Drip Feed: Project 2014-12

Food Packs for the Homeless, via Stronger Together charity

In December 2014 we were fortunate enough to be able to distribute Food Packs to the homeless and less fortunate people in Peterborough. We were greatly helped by a local charity called Stronger Together.

Earlier in the month we met with a representative of Stronger Together to discuss the potential help we could provide to their clients. After a brainstorming session, it was settled that we could provide take-away food packs as part of the annual Christmas Dinner they would be holding.

Stronger Together is a charity that provides hot meals and other services to the homeless people of Peterborough on Saturday evenings. It is the only charity of this nature that operates on Saturdays in Peterborough. We were delighted to be working with them on this project.

Over the next two weeks, our team surveyed what could be included in the food packs, we identified a range of food items that were individually packed, were high in carbs and calories and were instantly consumable. It was important to ensure that the items and overall packs were portable.
